Flood Risk Assessment and Flood Risk Management

Basement Developments, London

Haycock have carried out investigations on several large-scale basement extension proposals in Highgate and Hampstead Heath, London. These can potentially increase the risk of flooding to neighbouring properties or cause subsidence through disruption of groundwater regimes.

Beckford Village Properties, Worcestershire

Haycock helped Wychavon District Council secure £100k for household flood protection measures in Beckford Village. We then generated a “Statement of Flood Risk” for 20 qualifying properties which identified suitable resistance and resilience measures.

Coughton Court, Warwickshire

Haycock used a full flood risk assessment (FRA) to identify options for flood alleviation at Coughton Court. The National Trust are now digging an extensive “swale” that will act as a flood diversion channel but will be sympathetic to the historic landscape.

A Haycock Flood Risk Assessment identifies the causes of flooding and can model the full impact of future changes. However a simple Statement of Flood Risk may be enough for insurance review and to identify resistance and resilience measures.
