Soils and Carbon Management
Brockhampton
Haycock reviewed the soil and water issues for the Brockhampton Estate. These included protection of drinking water supplies, the nature and extent of soil erosion, protection of calcareous springs, stability of stream and river systems and habitat protection options.
Highgate Wood
The City of London has seen a worrying decline in the health of ancient oak trees at Highgate Wood and a falling success rate in oak tree regeneration. Haycock have been commissioned to map soil compaction and infiltration and examine the impact on the trees.
High Peak
The National Trust and Natural England are aiming to reduce the erosion of blanket peat on this large upland estate in Derbyshire. Haycock prioritised sites based on the level of damage and potential for gully blocking.
Haycock advises Defra, the European Environmental Bureau and Natural England on their soil management policies and legislation. Our experience at managing the interactions between land use, water and soils is unique.
